Our model predicted that the 2024 baseball season would see a World Series matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros, with a strong presence of west coast teams in both the American League (AL) and National League (NL) playoffs. Using projected win-loss records for all 30 MLB teams, we set up standings for each division, leading to the seeding of six teams for the playoffs.

In the AL, the Boston Red Sox were forecasted to take the top spot in the AL East, closely followed by the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays. The AL Central was led by the Chicago White Sox, with Cleveland Guardians and Kansas City Royals also making it to the postseason. The AL West was dominated by Houston Astros, with Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Athletics joining them in the playoffs.

On the NL side, Atlanta Braves were predicted to win NL East with Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets making it as well. Milwaukee Brewers were on top of NL Central followed by St Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds while Los Angeles Dodgers were expected to be division winners in NL West along with San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres.

In terms of playoff representation, Houston Astros, New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles and Seattle Mariners were expected from AL while Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, St Louis Cardinals
