Health Fair to be Hosted by Public Health District

In honor of National Public Health Week, the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District is hosting a health fair next week. The event will take place on April 4 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Health District’s main campus located at 1700 Third Street. This is the first time the district has hosted a health fair since 2019, and it’s designed to cater to both children and adults.

The theme for this year’s fair is “Super Heroes, Super Health,” which reflects the idea that everyone can be a superhero in their own way by taking care of their health. More than 40 community partners will be present at the event to support this mission, including local schools, healthcare providers, and non-profit organizations.

The fair will feature over 30 kid-friendly booths with additional activities being added as the event approaches. Attendees of all ages can participate in games, activities, get their blood pressure checked, engage in a scavenger hunt, donate blood, try a car accident simulator, potentially win door prizes, and much more.

As part of this collaborative effort between various community partners during National Public Health Week, Wichita Falls Animal Services will also be offering free pet adoptions and free microchipping at their location on 1207 Hatton Road. This initiative aims to promote community health and well-being for both humans and pets alike.
