Matt Corral leads Birmingham Stallions to UFL Championship berth

The USFL championship game between the Michigan Panthers and the Stallions in Birmingham was a thrilling battle, with the Panthers leading 18-3 at halftime. However, in the second half, the Stallions managed to comeback and win with a final score of 31-18. The official attendance for the game was reported as 10,287 by Mike Mitchell of SI.com.

The game saw some exciting moments, including former NFL quarterback Matt Corral’s replacement of likely UFL MVP Adrian Martinez in the third quarter. Despite his rocky start, with an interception on his second pass followed by a string of turnovers in the third quarter, Corral ultimately led the Stallions to victory. He completed nine out of 11 passes for 120 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

The outcome of this game has raised questions about who will be starting next Sunday for the Stallions in St. Louis – Martinez or Corral? The Stallions have secured their third championship berth since the USFL returned in 2022, winning both titles in the reconstituted league with a 10-1 record. They are heading to St. Louis in eight days for their upcoming game.
