The highly anticipated matchup between Tennessee and Florida State is set to take place at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska on Friday. The No. 1 national seed Vols will face the No. 8 seed Seminoles, with the game airing on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET.

Tennessee baseball has historically struggled in College World Series opening games under coach Tony Vitello, currently holding a 0-2 record. However, this is the Vols’ third trip to the CWS in the past four seasons and they are determined to turn things around.

Florida State earned the No. 8 national seed after a successful regular season and a run to the ACC tournament title game. The Seminoles are heading into the matchup undefeated in the NCAA tournament, coming off of a dominant performance against UConn in the Tallahassee Super Regional.
