Stellantis Reaches Agreement for 1,520 Workers to Voluntarily Exit

Stellantis and Turin’s metalworking unions have agreed on a plan for the voluntary, incentivized departure of 1,520 workers across 21 group companies in the region. These departures represent about 12% of the total employee pool, which is approximately 12,000 workers. The announcement was made by Uilm.

Out of the 1,520 workers set to leave, 733 will be departing from central structures, including both employees and managers. Meanwhile, 300 departures will come from the Mirafiori body shops. According to Luigi Paone, general secretary of Uilm Turin, the requested numbers are high and indicate a worsening situation. He urged immediate discussions with Stellantis and institutions to develop a concrete revitalization plan for Mirafiori.

The high number of workers set to depart highlights the severity of the situation facing Stellantis in Turin. Discussions and planning for a revival of operations at Mirafiori are crucial to ensuring the long-term sustainability and success of Stellantis in the area.
