Lane restrictions for work zone set to begin on Thursday along I-24 Business Loop/U.S. 60 in downtown Paducah

In Paducah, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has contracted a company to paint traffic signal poles, bases, and support arms on the Interstate 24 Downtown Business Loop/U.S. 60 in downtown Paducah. The work is expected to take approximately one week to complete, as long as weather conditions permit.

Starting Thursday, there will be a lane restriction in place at the Broadway intersections with Third Street and Fourth Street. Drivers should be aware of this and exercise caution around equipment, flaggers, and workers while driving in these areas. Delays are expected during the movement and placement of equipment, so drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and be patient.

The lane restriction and maintenance work are necessary for improving the infrastructure and ensuring the safety of motorists in the area. The contractor will focus on painting traffic signal poles, bases, and support arms to improve visibility and ensure proper functioning of traffic signals. Motorists are asked to follow any instructions provided by flaggers or personnel in the work zone to ensure their safety and that of others in the area.
