Apple to Include ‘Most Requested’ Feature in iPhone Text Messages

The iOS 18 update introduces new features to enhance the texting experience on iPhones. One of these features is the ability to schedule text messages to be sent later, a highly requested functionality that can be useful for reminders or birthday wishes. Apple’s director of internet-technologies product marketing, Ronak Shah, highlighted the convenience of this new feature during the WWDC event.

Another new feature in iOS 18 is text formatting, which allows users to bold, italicize, strikethrough, and underline their messages. This adds more options for expressing oneself through messaging. Emoji and sticker tapbacks have also been added to iMessage, expanding the ways to react to messages. These include new tapbacks like thumbs-up or -down, heart, laugh, exclamation point, and question mark.

Apple has also introduced new text effects like “shake” and “bloom” to add more creativity to messages. Some effects will be suggested automatically based on message content, but users can also choose any effect they want. These updates aim to give users more ways to express themselves through messaging and make the texting experience on iPhones even better.
