Public School Teachers in the County Excel in Teaching Math and Science – Conduit Street

In 2024, the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) will recognize six outstanding teachers from Maryland’s counties. These educators have demonstrated excellence in their teaching and embody the ideals of innovation, dedication, and excellence.

Dr. Carey M. Wright, Interim State Superintendent of Schools, expressed his excitement about this year’s finalists. “I am honored to recognize Maryland’s six finalists for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching,” he said. “These finalists represent the best that our state has to offer in K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teaching.”

PAEMST is a prestigious award established in 1983 that recognizes teachers who have both deep content knowledge of the subjects they teach and the ability to motivate and enable students to be successful in those areas. State finalists serve as a model and an inspiration to students and fellow teachers alike.

The following counties have produced top PAEMST finalists for K-6th grade: Washington County Public Schools, Anne Arundel County Public Schools, Baltimore County Public Schools, Queen Anne’s County Public Schools, Howard County Public Schools. These schools should be proud of their exceptional teachers who are dedicated to providing high-quality education to their students.
