Chiefs Defensive Lineman BJ Thompson has been discharged from the hospital

BJ Thompson, a defensive lineman for the Kansas City Chiefs, was released from the hospital on Monday night after a scary incident at the team facility. According to his agent, Chris Turnage, Thompson had a seizure and went into cardiac arrest during a special teams meeting four days ago. The family expressed their gratitude for the prayers and specifically thanked the Chiefs medical and training staff for their quick response and professionalism throughout the situation.

Initially in stable condition but unconscious, Thompson was praised by head coach Andy Reid for the training staff’s rapid response to the emergency. Despite only appearing in one game during his rookie season, Thompson made an impact with two tackles in 28 defensive snaps and 16 on special teams. His release from the hospital was a positive development following a frightening incident that left his family and the Chiefs organization grateful for the support and care he received.
