The potential hindrance to Milan’s acquisition of Joshua Zirkzee

Milan, an Italian Serie A team, is facing the possibility of losing out on signing Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee in the summer due to a disagreement over agent commission. Although negotiations were close to finalizing a deal with Bologna’s €40M release clause, talks have stalled as Milan tries to negotiate a lower commission for Kia Joorabchian, Zirkzee’s super agent, from €15M to €10M.

Joorabchian has good relationships with Juventus Sporting Director Cristian Giuntoli and there is interest in Zirkzee from the Premier League and Juventus. This could give Juventus the upper hand in hijacking Milan’s move for Zirkzee. Joorabchian also represents Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz, who is currently in talks with Juventus to sign him. This could potentially complicate Milan’s pursuit of Zirkzee.

Last season, Zirkzee scored 11 goals in Italy while playing for Bologna and helped them secure a spot in the Champions League for the first time in their history. With his impressive performance on the field and his growing popularity among fans, there are many teams interested in signing him. As a result, competition for his signature is heating up and it remains unclear if Milan will be able to secure a deal despite the commission dispute.
