Hamas and Islamic Jihad prepared for a constructive agreement

Palestinian militant groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad have expressed their willingness to agree to a ceasefire following a proposed agreement presented by mediators from Qatar and Egypt. At the same time, an Israeli government representative indicated support for a UN resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The representative emphasized that Israel would continue its military operation until it had achieved all of its objectives, including destroying Hamas’ military capabilities, freeing all hostages, and ensuring that the Gaza Strip would not pose a threat to Israel in the future.

During Israel’s recent military operation in Jenin, at least three people were reported killed according to Palestinian sources. The Ministry of Health in Ramallah confirmed this on Tuesday. According to reports, an undercover special unit entered the town to make an arrest and was engaged in a battle with armed Palestinians. The Israeli troops were supported by a combat helicopter during the raid. Jenin and its surrounding area are known as strongholds of militant Palestinians, leading the Israeli army to conduct frequent raids there. Since the beginning of the Gaza war following the Hamas massacre on October 7, more than 500 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israeli military operations, confrontations, or attacks as reported by the Ministry of Health in the West Bank. Additionally, there has been an increase in settler violence against Palestinians.
