Hakeem Butler Scheduled for Workout with the Panthers

During the UFL playoff game between the San Antonio Brahmas and the St. Louis Battlehawks this weekend, coach Wade Phillips gave an endorsement to receiver Hakeem Butler, stating that he should be in the NFL. This marks the beginning of a new opportunity for Butler, as the Carolina Panthers are the first team to give him a chance to showcase his skills.

Butler had an impressive spring season in the UFL, earning offensive player of the year honors with 45 receptions for 652 yards and five touchdowns. Despite being drafted by the Cardinals in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Butler missed his entire rookie season due to a broken hand. He never played a regular-season game for Arizona and only saw action in two regular-season games with the Eagles, where he did not record a catch. In fact, Butler only had one offensive snap and 29 special teams snaps during his time with the Eagles.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Butler will have a workout with Carolina in the near future. This is great news for Butler, who has been looking for a chance to prove himself at the next level. With his impressive performance in the UFL and now having an opportunity with Carolina, it’s looking like he may finally get that chance.
