Samaritan’s Purse commemorates World Water Day

Samaritan’s Purse is an organization that travels the world to provide clean drinking water to those in need. Their mission is to prevent the outbreak of disease by providing safe drinking water during disasters and emergencies. Brent Kejr, an engineer who loves building things and solving problems, has been a part of this team for three years.

Kejr works with Samaritan’s Purse to design equipment used globally to provide clean drinking water. His work has taken him to places like Haiti after the earthquake, Ukraine, and various emergency field hospitals around the world. The organization has mobile units that can be deployed wherever needed, capable of filtering water to make it clean and drinkable. These units can provide water for up to 10,000 people a day when connected to a fresh water source, with smaller filters available specifically for field hospitals to ensure patients have clean water for care and surgeries.

Deputy Director David Phillips emphasized the importance of water as a life source, highlighting the need to be prepared at a moment’s notice. In locations like Ukraine, where the water infrastructure was damaged by war, Samaritan’s Purse was able to drill wells and distribute clean water throughout the community.

Overall, Kejr and the team’s work ensures that access to clean drinking water remains a top priority during times of crisis. The organization is committed to providing safe water to communities regardless of the challenges they face.
