Ohtani remains steadfast in his refusal to bet on sports, accuses interpreter of theft.

Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani is under investigation after allegations of wrongdoing by his former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara. Ohtani held a news conference at Dodger Stadium on Monday to address the allegations and accused Mizuhara of stealing money from him and telling lies.

Ohtani stated that he never bet on sports and emphasized that he did not participate in any illegal activities related to sports betting. He also denied going through a bookmaker to bet on sports or assisting anyone else in betting. Ohtani’s manager of performance operations, Will Ireton, sat next to him during the conference and expressed his support for Ohtani.

MLB investigators are currently conducting their own investigation into the case, with sources revealing that they have been in contact with federal prosecutors regarding the matter. The investigation is ongoing, and further details may emerge as the case develops. Despite this, Ohtani reiterated his innocence and expressed his disappointment in Mizuhara’s actions. He emphasized his commitment to integrity and honesty in his career.
