Oklahoma County Commissioners to convene Monday to deliberate on mental health facility, potential $50 million funding at stake

On Monday, the Oklahoma County commissioners will meet to decide whether to acquire a controversial property on East Grand Boulevard for the development of a mental health facility. The original plan was to build a new county jail alongside the mental health facility, but this was blocked by City Councilors who denied zoning in May. Despite this setback, the commissioners are determined to move forward with the construction of the mental health facility, especially with $50 million in federal COVID funding at stake. The commissioners will gather at 9 a.m. to discuss their best course of action moving forward.
