CBS Sports signs media rights deal with MMA property Invicta Fighting Championship

Invicta Fighting Championship, a renowned all-women MMA property, has recently agreed to a partnership with CBS Sports to air its events on the Paramount Global-owned network. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but the collaboration will kick off this month with Invicta FC 55 scheduled for broadcast on June 28.

CBS Sports will showcase five of Invicta’s events this year, marking a significant shift from the organization’s previous online-only platform on AXS TV since 2012. Founded in 2012 and owned by Anthem Sports & Entertainment, Invicta has been a breeding ground for talented fighters who have gone on to achieve success in the UFC, such as Amanda Nunes and Rose Namajunas. Previously, UFC had aired Invicta events on its UFC Fight Pass OTT network from 2014-2020. The move to CBS Sports comes as Paramount Global had largely left the fight space following the closure of Showtime Sports and its boxing coverage at the end of 2013.

With this new partnership, Invicta Fighting Championship aims to reach a wider audience and continue to showcase the talents of female fighters in the MMA world. By securing airtime on CBS Sports, the organization hopes to expand its reach and attract more fans to women’s MMA. The upcoming events scheduled to be aired on CBS Sports will provide a platform for rising stars in the sport to shine and make a name for themselves on a larger stage.

The partnership between Invicta FC and CBS Sports is expected to bring more exposure and recognition to women’s MMA fighters who have been working hard to make it big in their respective careers. With more people tuning into CBS Sports, there is an increased chance that these athletes will gain greater visibility and recognition within their respective fields.

Overall, this new agreement marks an exciting opportunity for both organizations as they work together towards promoting women’s MMA and expanding their respective audiences. As we look forward to watching these upcoming events unfold on CBS Sports, we can expect nothing but great things from Invicta FC in the future.
