Report: Darvin Ham Returning to Milwaukee Bucks as Assistant Coach Under Doc Rivers

Darvin Ham is set to return to the Milwaukee Bucks as an assistant coach under Doc Rivers. Ham was previously let go by the Los Angeles Lakers after a two-year stint as their head coach. Despite his departure from the Lakers, Ham will be reunited with the franchise where he previously served as an assistant coach under Mike Budenholzer.

During his time in Milwaukee, Ham and Budenholzer guided the team to a championship in 2021. Additionally, Ham has a history with the Bucks as he played for the team from 1999 to 2002 as an NBA forward. Following his departure from the Lakers, where he led the team to a deeper playoff run in 2023, Ham will now work closely with Rivers in Milwaukee.

Rivers was brought in as the head coach of the Bucks earlier this year with the expectation of leading the team to another championship. Despite a playoff appearance this season, the Bucks were eliminated in the first round by the Indiana Pacers. However, Ham’s return to the Bucks marks a new chapter in his coaching career, as he looks to contribute to the team’s success under the leadership of Doc Rivers.
