Blackhawks and NBC Sports Chicago Collaborate on First Local Animated Sports Telecast, Set to Air on April 6

The Chicago Blackhawks and NBC Sports Chicago are partnering to create the first-ever local animated game, aimed at introducing Blackhawks fandom to a younger generation. The collaboration brings together well-known broadcast talent such as Chris Vosters as play-by-play announcer and Dominic Moore providing in-game analysis.

NBC Sports Chicago is excited about the opportunity to merge its talents with the Chicago Blackhawks and the NHL to produce this unique viewing experience for families and younger fans. By leveraging NHL EDGE positional data and Hawk-Eye Innovations optical tracking, the presentation will bring the action on the ice to life in real-time, featuring Blackhawks mascot Tommy Hawk and other characters in a fun setting at the United Center.

In addition to the animated presentation, NBC Sports Chicago will also air the traditional game telecast with WGN Radio 720’s John Wiedeman handling play-by-play duties and Darren Pang providing expert game analysis. This dual broadcast approach allows fans of all ages to enjoy the game in different formats and adds another layer of excitement to the viewing experience.
