Ryan Poles deems Keenan Allen as “a flawless match”

In an astute move, the Bears have acquired receiver Keenan Allen, adding another potent weapon to their arsenal for the upcoming season. The acquisition of Allen, who is expected to be the presumptive No. 1 overall pick, Caleb Williams, comes after Chicago’s general manager Ryan Poles had been monitoring him as a potential cap casualty at the annual league meeting on Monday.

Poles was impressed with Allen’s impressive plays and reflected on his time in K.C., where he watched him excel. When the opportunity arose and Allen became available, Poles was prepared to pounce. Despite playing only 13 games last season, Allen achieved a career-high with 108 catches, 1,243 yards (the second most in his career), and seven touchdowns.

Poles believes that adding Allen presents a fantastic opportunity for the team as they move forward with a young quarterback. He emphasized that Allen’s understanding of the NFL, timing, space, and ability to read defenses will greatly benefit a young quarterback. With Allen joining receiver DJ Moore, tight ends Cole Kmet and Gerald Everett, and running back D’Andre Swift, Poles envisions a balanced field with plenty of potential for dynamic and special plays in the upcoming season.
