Man in Spirit Lake, IA threatens to detonate explosives at local business

A Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Darin Naatjes in Spirit Lake, South Dakota for making threats to shoot and kill people and blow up a convenience store. The criminal complaint filed against Naatjes charges him with terrorism and trespassing.

On Friday, June 7, Naatjes made multiple threatening statements to individuals at Vicks Corner. He also threatened to detonate the building. Despite being asked to leave multiple times, Naatjes refused to comply.

Naatjes was taken into custody and booked into the Dickinson County Jail on Friday night. His bond was set at $10,000.
