Medical professionals threaten sanctions following demonstrations against the government after the attack

In the early morning hours, Dr. Beharev was taken off a bus and interrogated by investigators who accused him of various claims based on what they saw in a recorded clip. Despite being released in the morning, exhausted and bruised, with no action taken against the police officers who treated him violently, he reassured everyone that despite the ordeal, the hope for a better society will endure.

Prof. Zion Hagai demanded an immediate condemnation of the police officers’ conduct and an independent investigation to address the incident and those responsible at all levels. The Professionalism Forum for Human and Social Prosperity from Rahab warned that if doctors lose faith in the protection against police violence, it could lead to a collapse of the health system. Health Minister Uriel Bosso stated that saving lives and medical treatment should take precedence over maintaining public order, calling for an investigation into the incident to prevent it from happening again.

It is important to focus on human rights violations and accountability in cases of police brutality rather than distractions related to firearms and gambling. The priority should be on addressing the injustices and seeking justice for those affected.
