Hatton and Smith Selected for College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Team

The 2023-24 College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Team has named Langdon Hatton and Billy Smith as its members. Both student-athletes excel both on the court and in the classroom, earning recognition for their impressive performances.

Langdon Hatton, a junior data science major, had a standout season with averages of 10.5 points and 7.1 rebounds. He achieved five double-doubles during the season, including a memorable performance against Kennesaw State where he scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. This is not his first academic honor as he was also named to the 2024 Academic All-ASUN Team.

On the other hand, Billy Smith, a sophomore psychology major, had a solid debut season after transferring from Miami (OH). He averaged 5.8 points per game and shot an impressive 34.6 percent from three-point range. His season-high was a 17-point game against Berea on December 7th. Both Hatton and Smith met the requirements for consideration for the CSC Academic All-District Team, which include maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.5 and appearing in a certain percentage of games.
